As the ancient history of the Missions of Kilacheri, so also the missions of Sellampattidai went on establishing themselves in the neighbouring villages of Valarpuram, Sellampattidai, Pannur and Molasur around 1859. According to the census made by Rev. Gleeson in 1859 there were 176 Catholics here in Molasur. It was a Sub Station of Pannur and Molasur became a Parish in 1953 and Fr. J.A. Ross was made the first Parish Priest.
