A Brief History
\"\"Originally Neerpair was under the Jurisdiction of Archdiocese of Pondicherry-Cuddalore, having Cheyyur as its mother Church. Since 1906, liturgical worship was carried on in a thatched Chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Good Health. Rev. Fr. K.M. Joseph began building the present Church in the year 2001 after which Rev. Fr. Suresh completed the work and it was blessed by Most Rev. Dr. Aruldas James the then Archbishop of Madras– Mylapore. The year 2006 was the centenary year of this ancient Church. In May 2009 Rt. Rev. Dr. Neethinathan bishop of Chingleput erected this ancient hamlet into an independent parish dedicated to Jayarakkini Madha and appointed Rev. Fr. Selvam Bellarmine as its first parish priest.
