In 1932, a few Catholic families living in Vippedu village invited Catholic Priests for their Spiritual requirements. On their invitation, the early missionaries, the MEP fathers from Ottanthangal came and celebrated Mass and offered pastoral assistance. In 1943 Archdiocese of Madras-Mylapore took over from the MEP fathers and from 1968 OMI fathers were placed in charge of the Mission. From May 14th 2006 this mission became the full-fledged Parish. Fr. Charles Suresh was made the first Parish Priest.
