The Christian Community at Ramapuram was under the pastoral care of St. Thomas Mount Parish.  On 10th June 1987 it was handed over to the Parish of Porur. Later on for a few years it was under the control of Sacred Heart Seminary at Poonamallee. Priests from the seminary were in charge of all the pastoral ministries. On 29th  June 1997 it was made into a full-fledged Parish. The Parish has a special segment  JIAS as a unique  ministry of  preparing competent candidates for higher administrative governmental and non-governmental sectors. This Parish has the ancient Shrine dedicated to St. Paul the Hermit whose feast is celebrated on 26th January.
